NCSU's DesignLab runs an amazing program each summer called Design Camp. Young artists and designers sign up for a week of studio time where they're immersed in the world of design, counseled and mentored by students and faculty of the College of Design. This program is what introduced me to design as a field in the summer of 2014 and helped me to discover my dream job. When I became a student at the COD, I jumped on the chance to be a counselor and had the privilege of joining the team for two summers in a row.
As part of each week of Design Camp, my co-counselors and I led our teams of campers through a branding brainstorm, helping them to develop a group identity, name, and visual mark. I then took their final ideas and incorporated them in an illustration that would be adapted into stickers and t-shirts as goodbye gifts on the final days.
Below are a few of the team identities that really stuck with me: "bRed", "The Purpletrators", and "Violetly Ill".

I also developed a guide to Adobe Illustrator for quick reference for campers and instructors.
The knowledge gap can frustrate a lot of campers, especially if it’s their first time in an Adobe
program, and I wanted to provide something for them to use as a guide that they could look at
as they worked on daily projects and challenges to help them feel more self-sufficient.
